They did the same thing last year. My professors really like making everything due the Monday after Thanksgiving. Yeah, so I had time off from work. But I also had family to visit with and meals to cook and shopping to do. So I now find myself trying to crank out a 3-page paper on minority recruitment for a police organization, 2-4 pages of commentary on course content, and a longish paper on a corrections topic that I haven't even chosen yet. Something tells me I'll be asking to use some comp time tomorrow afternoon. At least I got the chapter exam out of the way already.

I just try not to stress any more than I have to. The 3-pager (which turned into a 5-pager) was actually kind of fun to write. It was about increasing ethnic diversity in recruitment and retention, and I used to work in HR and college career services, so it was right up my alley. The professor graded it right away and gave me 100%, so I'm kinda pleased about that.
The 10-pager on (perhaps, unless I change my mind again) supermax prisons, isn't faring so well. Yes, it was due Monday. I've lived in New Mexico too long. Mas tarde de nada.
